Craniosacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle hands-on method of evaluating and facilitating a system called the craniosacral system.  The craniosacral system is comprised of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surrounds and protects the brain and spinal cord.  It uses a soft touch, generally no greater than 5 grams (the weight of a nickel), to release restrictions and improve the functioning of the central nervous system.  By releasing the central nervous system restrictions, the other tissues in the body can relax and release their tension patterns.  CranioSacral Therapy complements the body’s natural healing processes and is effective for a wide range of medical problems associated with pain and dysfunction.

Myofascial Release addresses the connective tissue in the body that is called fascia.  Fascia surrounds all the muscles, bones, and organs of the body, connecting everything to everything else, and allowing everything to move in relation to each other.  Myofascial Release uses gentle unwinding techniques to decrease the tension in the connective tissues of the body, which can increase the function and mobility of the different parts of the body, and decrease pain.

Lymphatic Drainage Therapy uses a gentle wave-like massage to analyze and facilitate the specific rhythm, direction, depth and quality of the lymph and fluid that surrounds the cells of the body.  These subtle manual maneuvers can decrease swelling, eliminate toxins, as well as stimulate the functioning of the immune and parasympathetic nervous systems.
